We are group of four young colombian journalism students. Now we start a project about immigration and in this blog we want to share you our experiences with immigration: since our personal stories, to stories of real immigrants in the USA.
Somos un grupo de jóvenes colombianos estudiantes de periodismo. Empezamos nuestro proyecto sobre migración y en este blog queremos compartirles nuestras experiencias sobre el tema: desde nuestras historias personales, a las historias reales de inmigrantes en los Estados Unidos.

Melissa Ruiz
I'm a journalism that loves to read, travel and eat. About a year ago, I opened my blog about books and I comment on my readings of the moment. I read almost five books a month. I am currently doing my thesis on street sexual harassment in Bogotá, Colombia. I have collected about 25 harassment stories and simplified them into eight chronicles that tell how difficult it is to be a woman in today's world. I have always been a fairly independent person who has challenged stereotypes. Now with my thesis I want to create a book in which all those women can be heard.
Soy una periodista que le gusta leer, viajar y comer. Hace un año, abrí mi propio blog sobre libros, donde comento mis lecturas del momento. Leo casi cinco libros al mes. Actualmente estoy haciendo mi tesis sobre el acoso sexual callejero en Bogotá, Colombia. He recopilado unas 25 historias de acoso y las he simplificado en ocho crónicas que cuentan lo difícil que es ser mujer en el mundo de hoy. Siempre he sido una persona bastante independiente que ha desafiado los estereotipos. Ahora con mi tesis quiero crear un libro en el que todas esas mujeres puedan ser escuchadas
Nicolas Morales
I'm a young journalist passionate about languages, life stories, and memorable landscapes. I love riding a bike, picnics, and finishing the day in my room reading Neruda and listening to good music. My dream its meeting new cultures, being a nomad and touring new places. I dream of being the voice of those who cannot speak and show things to those who cannot see. I am an inveterate journalist, but I am also an excellent human being, a helpful and attentive man.
I have written articles for Latin American Post and I also have a radio show at the Urosario Radio university radio station. Currently, I am developing my degree thesis about Central American migration to the United States and its relationship with human rights.
Soy un joven periodista apasionado por los idiomas, las historias de vida y los paisajes memorables. Me encanta andar en bicicleta, hacer picnics, ir a una buena obra de teatro y terminar el día en mi habitación leyendo a Neruda y escuchando buena música. Sueño con conocer nuevas culturas, ser nómada y recorrer nuevos lugares. Sueño con ser la voz de quienes no pueden hablar y mostrarles cosas a quienes no pueden ver. Soy un periodista empedernido, pero también soy un excelente ser humano, un joven servicial y atento. He escrito artículos para Latin American Post y también tengo un programa de radio en la estación de radio de la universidad Urosario Radio. Actualmente, estoy desarrollando mi tesis de grado sobre migración centroamericana hacia los Estados Unidos y su relación con los derechos humanos

I'm a journalism student in Colombia. Nowadays I am interesting in work in foundations relative with the human rights. During all my career in the university I belonged to the debate club, that let me gain persuasive, argumentative and analytical skills. Also, I have worked with non profit organizations and through this, given argumentation workshops for schools and universities in Colombia.
Soy estudiante de periodismo en Colombia. Actualmente estoy interesada en trabajar con fundaciones relacionadas con los derechos humanos. Durante mi carrera en la universidad, pertenecí a la Sociedad de Debate, lo que me permitió adquirir conocimientos sobre argumentación, persuasión y también capacidades analíticas. También, he trabajado con fundaciones en las que he a través de ella he dictado talleres sobre argumentación a colegios y universidades de Colombia
Iván Villalba
I have always liked working with communities. When I started listening to people's stories, recording them and making them visible, I realized that journalism is more than my profession, it is my way of life. Since then, I have felt the responsibility of portraying the stories entrusted to me in the cleanest and most transparent way possible. Regardless of nationality or age, if someone has something to say, I hope to be there to help spread their voice.
Siempre me ha gustado trabajar con las comunidades. Cuando empecé a escuchar las historias de la gente, registrarlas y hacerlas visibles, me di cuenta de que el periodismo es algo más que mi profesión, es mi forma de vida. Desde entonces, he sentido la responsabilidad de retratar las historias que me son confiadas de la forma más limpia y transparente posible. Sin importar la nacionalidad o la edad, si alguien tiene algo que decir, espero estar ahí para ayudarle a difundir su voz
